She researches conditions leading up to the moment in a bid to captivate the possible emotions and feelings felt by participants and witnesses alike. For Marina, adding color to photographs from history is like allowing the real story to emerge. She says, “I use color to help viewers see the past in the same way that people did when the photo was taken.”
