2 How microwave works?
Microwave ovens are one of the best inventions of last century and they have sped up the way we heat our food or cook food in matter of minutes. Microwaves cook food using radiation- by channeling the heat energy directly to the molecules in the food and cooking it. They use a combination of electricity and magnetism in order to make electromagnetic waves zap through the food at high temperature and at speed of light. They use the electricity efficiently and electromagnetic waves are used at the frequency of 2.45 gigahertz. This makes the waves absorbable by sugar, fats and water, thereby cooking the food from inside, without damaging the food nutrients. However, the food chemist and his experiment created such hype that Russians banned the appliance in 1976.
